StorageFirst Launches Mobile Insurance

Tulsa, Okla.-based StorageFirst has expanded its traditional self-storage business insurance program to include mobile self-storage operators. Coverage is underwritten by Travelers Insurance and can be written in all states. The product is available through any independent insurance agency.

“Traditional self-storage and moving and storage insurance programs are not designed to handle the unique exposures of the mobile self-storage industry,” says Tom Laden, program manager of StorageFirst. “During our marketing research, we interviewed mobile self-storage operators and reviewed their insurance programs. We were not able to find any program that provided the comprehensive coverage that mobile self-storage operators need to protect their businesses. Every program we reviewed had significant coverage inadequacies.”
