PODS Introduces Eco-Friendly Containers

Wabash National’s DuraPlate® Products Group has signed a multi-year agreement to build and service all of Clearwater, Fla.-based PODS Enterprises’ traditional portable storage containers. The production agreement with Wabash National will allow PODS to continue their tremendous growth, while ensuring that the PODS containers are unsurpassed in the industry.
“As industry leaders, both PODS and Wabash are excited about our new DuraPlate containers that are not only made in the U.S.A., but will result in greater efficiencies for PODS,” says Tom Ryan, president and chief executive officer of PODS. “Since DuraPlate is made from steel and plastic materials, each unit will be 100 percent recyclable and are highly eco-friendly.”
The new PODS containers have a steel frame construction with completely recyclable panels made of steel skins and a high-density polyethylene core. The containers are available in three sizes: approximately 8-by-8-by-7 feet, 8-by-8-by-12 feet, and 8-by-8-by-16 feet.
